A Gmail account, and an iPhone, iPad or Mac. That alone gets you a fast, quiet mail app.

For the sorting, one of two further things: Apple Intelligence, which does it on the device in your hand, or your own computer, which can do it for every device you own. Settings walks you through the second one, and it takes a few minutes.

Neither is required. Without one, Postroom simply waits, and says it is waiting, rather than guessing.

Gmail, which you sign in to with Google in the usual way. That includes a Google Workspace address at your own domain.

Nothing in Postroom is built around Gmail specifically, so other providers are possible later. None are supported today, and this page will say so when one is.

No account. There is nothing to sign up for, no password to choose, and no profile. You sign in to your mailbox and that is the whole of it.

There is nothing to subscribe to inside the app and no advertising anywhere in it.

Yes, and that is the intended way to use it. Snooze something at your desk and it is snoozed on your phone before you have stood up. Sort your mail once and it stays sorted everywhere.

Done, snoozed and pinned travel between your devices through your own iCloud account. They never pass through a server of ours.

There is no date to give yet. Write to support@travelersvpn.com and we will tell you the day it is out — that is the only thing the address will be used for.

Seven of them: Travel, Purchases, Finance, Social, Updates, Forums and Promos. Mail that belongs to one is gathered into a single row, and opening that row unfolds it where it sits.

Travel mail is gathered a second time, into Trips — one page per journey, with the flights, the hotel and the tickets in order. Shipping mail is gathered into Deliveries.

The row for mail Postroom has received but not yet read. It says how many messages are in it and how the sorting is going.

It exists so the app never has to pretend. If sorting is slow, or switched off, or your computer is asleep, Unsorted grows and tells you — rather than quietly filing mail somewhere it does not belong.

Nothing that cannot be undone. A bundle is a way of showing mail, not a folder it has been moved into, so a message in the wrong bundle is still in your mailbox, still found by search, and still exactly where it was in Gmail.

No. Done, Sweep and Snooze move mail out of your way, never out of your mailbox. Search finds all of it afterwards, and every one of them can be undone.

Yes. Postroom works through what is already in your inbox as well as what arrives, and Unsorted counts down as it goes.

Done means you have finished with a conversation and it should leave your inbox. Snooze means you have not, and it should come back — tonight, on Tuesday, or the morning you land.

Sweep is Done applied to a whole day or a whole bundle at once. Pin is the opposite of all three: it holds something at the top of the screen while everything else moves past.

A code that arrives by mail can be offered on the form that asked for it — above the keyboard on a phone, in the autofill menu on a Mac — so you never switch apps to read six digits.

It has to be switched on once, in the system's own settings, under Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords. Postroom offers to take you there the first time you add a mailbox, and again from its own Settings. Nothing can do it on your behalf, and nothing appears until it is done.

A page, a photograph, a file or a paragraph can be handed to Postroom from the share sheet on a phone or the Share menu on a Mac. It arrives as a message with the thing already in it — the link in the body, the page's title as the subject, files attached — ready for you to say who it goes to.

Nothing is sent at the moment you share it. You always see the message and press send yourself.

For a few seconds, yes. Send a message and Postroom holds it briefly, with an undo waiting, before it goes.

Yes — several at once, viewed together or one at a time, with the unread count beside each.

Yes. Bright cards you can tell apart at a glance, or the plain style of the system, whichever you prefer.

Not to us, and not to an AI company. The sorting happens on your own devices: on the device in your hand through Apple Intelligence, or on a computer of yours that you set up in Settings.

If you choose to point Postroom at a hosted service instead — Settings lets you type in any address — then your mail goes to whoever runs that service. The app says so on the screen where you type it. That is your choice to make, and Postroom never makes it for you.

The sender, the subject and the first line of a new message, on their way to your lock screen — which is what a notification is. Getting them there needs a small service of ours, so it holds your mailbox address, which devices to alert, and permission to read the new message.

None of it is kept after the alert is sent. Leaving notifications off means even that never happens, and the app works without them.

The privacy policy sets this out in full.

None. No analytics, no third-party crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and nothing that follows you between apps or across the web.

Remove the mailbox in Settings, or delete the app. That clears what is stored on the device and hands back the permission Postroom was given to read your mail; you can also remove it from your Google account at any time.

Unsorted growing is the app telling you it has nothing to sort with. The usual reasons, in order:

• The computer doing the sorting is asleep or off the network.
• Apple Intelligence is not switched on for this device.
• The address in Settings has changed — a home network often hands out a new one.

Settings shows which of these applies. Nothing is lost while it waits; the mail sits in Unsorted until sorting comes back.

Almost always the switch in Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords has not been turned on, or has been turned off by a system update. Postroom's own Settings will tell you which, and take you there.
